Khilafat – Personification of Pure Love

*Huzoor is the term Ahmadi Muslims use to refer to His Holiness, the fifth Caliph/Khalifa of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community*

It is Allah’s grace that His attributes are manifested through His beloved Prophets and their Khulafa (plural of Khalifa). Allah the Almighty is Compassionate and Most Loving. Our beloved Khalifa, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad’s (may Allah be his Helper) love for the members of His Community knows no bounds. And every Ahmadi has felt this love from Huzoor in one way or the other. I have always been awed by Huzoor’s calm and loving demeanour which unifies and guides the individual members of the, and the Community as a whole. In particular, I felt this persona of Huzoor, during the biggest turning point of my life.

Undoubtedly, life has its ups and downs. Therefore, it is inevitable not to run into unexpected events in our lifetime. I too have faced a most agonizing experience in life. Huzoor knew of this and despite His extremely busy schedule, He gave me so much of His precious time and attention when I needed it the most. The constant contact with beloved Huzoor; be it the detailed notes on letters, the frequent inquiring of the situation and granting me mulaqats (private audience) have shown me that we are extremely lucky to have Khilafat. For me, Huzoor made a pathway that would have been so painful to walk on, smooth.

Huzoor’s soothing uplifting words: “Allah fazl farmaay” (invoking Allah’s grace) is something which throughout the day whispers in my heart and soul. Thus, regardless of the sensitivity of any situation, we have Khilafat to make us feel loved when we are feeling hopeless.   Through this, I have now understood that whatever Allah does is for the betterment, and surely Allah is the Best of planners. Indeed, Khilafat is a spiritual gift given to us, and is a rope for understanding the true manifestation of the attributes of Allah the Almighty.

خلا فت اب قیامت تک سہارا غم زدوں کا ہے

خدائی کے نوشتے ہیں خدا کی مہربانی ہے

(This Urdu poetic verse conveys that Khilafat will be a source of solace for those in distress till the Day of Judgement. Khilafat has been decreed by God and it is a favour of God).
