My First Day at Jalsa Salana UK 2026

Meher Shazia Chaudhry, Bexley & Greenwich

My first day at Jalsa Salana began with a mixture of excitement and nerves. As soon as I arrived on site, I couldn’t wait to experience the unique atmosphere that makes Jalsa so special.

After passing through security, I went straight to the water duty tent, where I spent most of the day handing out water to attendees. It was a really rewarding experience, and I enjoyed knowing that I was helping people, even in a small way. Seeing everyone’s appreciation made the hard work feel worthwhile.

One of the best parts of my day was spending time with members of my Jama’at and my family. Jalsa is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and catch up with friends and relatives you may not have seen for a long time. Everywhere I went, people were welcoming and kind, and there was a real feeling of unity that made the whole event even more enjoyable.

After a busy day of volunteering, it was nice to sit down and enjoy some delicious food. As always, the Jalsa food didn’t disappoint! It was the perfect chance to relax and recharge before the afternoon session.

The day ended with the inspiring address of Hadrat Khalifatul Masih V (aba). Huzoor’s words reminded us of the true purpose of Jalsa Salana and encouraged us to keep strengthening our faith. Listening to his address was a meaningful way to end the start of a lovely thing.
