When it comes to my love for Khilafat, I might not be very expressive about it, but I always try to show my love through implementing what my Khalifa, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad (may Allah be his Helper) expects from me as an Ahmadi Muslim.
I never claim to be perfect in my faith, but I consider myself lucky to be part of a Community where we actually have somebody who always tries to pull us back – from darkness into light.
Yes, I am a firm believer of Khilafat being a rope of Allah. Especially since the experience I had with my son. He suffered from eczema since he was 3 months old. His cheeks and neck were always full of bleeding rashes or scars. On top of that, he developed mild to severe food allergies and asthma. I remember people giving me advice on how to treat his conditions, especially through homeopathy. I cannot really say why, but I was never keen on trying anything on him. I just wanted to stick to what my GP recommended. When my son was over a year old, I had a mulaqat (meeting) with His Holiness and requested if His Holiness could recommend anything to treat him. His Holiness said to follow the doctor’s advice and not try homeopathy yet, as my son was too young and his immune system was weak. His Holiness said he would not be able to handle homeopathy. I remember feeling very relieved in that moment, because His Holiness had just said what I always had in mind but was not able to express.
Another family meeting with Huzoor: by now my son’s eczema was now mainly on his neck, not that visible anymore, but extremely painful for him. Now I had this feeling that I should do something. I felt ready but needed reassurance. I told His Holiness of my son’s condition and asked him for guidance. He selected a homeopathic remedy from the back of his room and placed some of it in my son’s mouth, telling me it was for allergies and asked to keep him updated on my son’s health.
I now felt the reassurance I needed to try alternative treatments. I started to treat my son with homeopathy and other alternative medicines. His condition got worse in the beginning, but this time it did not scare me and I remained persistent. Then, suddenly, his condition improved, with the grace of God, and within a few months, his eczema was gone. Since then it has never returned.
I trusted the advice of Allah’s appointed Khalifa and this incident strengthened my belief in Khilafat, as well as in Allah being the All Powerful. Allah is indeed the Healer and He will restore health when He pleases, for whom He please and how He pleases.
I trust and obey His Holiness because he is from Allah, for me this is Khilafat being the rope of Allah.
